2000 was Absolute's first year. Started by Captain and Coach Kathleen, Absolute started out as a thrown together motley crew of college friends and work associates. In pursuit of activities outside of just happy hour, clubbing and bar hopping - dragon boat paddling offered a means of meeting new people and doing something recreational while having fun. In Absolute's first year - the team was lucky enough to participate in 2 memorable regattas that took place in their very own backyard.
